This image is one of a new project depicting Delamere Forest throughout the seasons. It was the end of a productive winters day in the forest shooting intimate landscapes and as sunset approached, I noticed the wonderful sublime light illuminating trees at the rear of this image. These two small trees, growing out of one of the many bog mosses within the forest, served as a perfect foreground and indeed became the stars of the show. I find the transition between the cold of the 'Ice Maidens' and warmth of the forest behind startling.
