This is my first image offering from an autumn trip to the spectacular Italian Dolomites. I was on my way up the mountain towards Cinque Torri for sunset when I spotted this wonderful 'V'-shaped split Larch tree bathed in golden evening light. I knew there was a shot to be had and, after a little contemplation, decided to simply frame the distant mountain ridgeline of Croda da Lago and Cima d'Ambrizzola between the parted trunks, creating a natural window that perfectly showcased the beautiful alpine backdrop.
