With freezing fog in the forecast and expected to clear later, I made an hours journey over to The Roaches escarpment in the hope of photographing some form of dramatic weather clearance. This though proved not to be the case and I was forced to reconsider my options. I decided to search for intimate landscapes instead and after much climbing and investigation, discovered these two hoar-frosted trees perched precariously on the gritstone edge. They looked to me like two frozen spectral guardians watching over the landscape.
