The gentle sunset above Stac a Phris belies the stormy conditions encountered during the making of this image. The Outer Hebrides can be a wild and windy place, but I still hadn't anticipated the 50mph wind gusts seeking to topple me from my perch sixty feet above the billowing surf. To ensure sharpness and stability, I had to lean all of my weight onto the tripod during this 1/2 sec exposure.
