The realisation of this image involved a 3 hour round trip hike, battling against high winds high up on Derwent Edge above Ladybower Reservoir. The location is sublime and the time of year in high summer is perfect for the heather that carpets Derwent Edge. Changeable conditions provided pockets of atmospheric evening light and I captured this cloudburst shortly before sunset.
