A stormy day with strong winds whipping heavy rain showers across the landscape offered ideal conditions for shooting rainbows and Llandudno pier seemed like a good location. For a rainbow to form you obviously require rain! However the sun also needs to be at a low angle (< 40 degrees) and behind you to achieve the desired refraction. Patience and a little luck were rewarded this day with this particularly intense example.
