A heavy rainstorm creates ideal conditions for this image of an intense rainbow over a Tectonic Plate fissure deep within Thingvellir National Park in Iceland. Heavy showers had been falling all day, but never in the 'right' place. I saw this one blowing directly at me and with the sun at my back hoped for a burst of sunlight. Seconds after making this image the rain engulfed me and I retreated both soaking and elated to my car.
