Erg Chebbi is a harsh and desolate environment containing huge wind blown dunes on the edge of the Sahara Desert. During the day the light is unflattering and the scene unremarkable... but when the sun begins to set a transformation takes place emphasising every rise, fall and ripple in the Saharan sand. Here a local Berber has been positioned deliberately in the landscape to give a little scale to the vastness of the desert.
